The Birth of My Sister My Friend Ministry
In 1997 I went through the most devastating trial of my life. With no warning my husband of 22 years served me with divorce papers. After serving together in ministry for as many years, I was not psychologically ready to leave divorce court and enter into this new life that had befallen me. I would need one year just to get over the shock that my marriage was over.
I was blessed to be the pastor’s wife of Abundant Life Ministry Complex of St. Louis MO. The ministry was birthed through a love for God and His people. I loved serving God’s people. It was difficult to except the changes that would take place as our divorce sent the church into transition. I served as Spiritual Overseer for six months encouraging and supporting the congregation as we prayed for God’s will to be revealed. During this time my wonderful church family supported me spiritually, emotionally, and financially. I believe that is why God birthed My Sister My Friend Ministry in my heart. Unfortunately, I have found that many who find themselves in similar circumstances may not have the love, support, and assistance I received.
Several years ago the Lord graciously allowed me to start a women’s ministry. The purpose of the ministry is to encourage hurting women. The desire of the ministry is to help fire victims, assist the homeless, provide food, shelter, and relocation in cases of domestic violence and other unspecified needs.
The Lord has spiritually stamped His seal of approval on our annual women’s conference. How blessed we are to have hundreds of women come together in praise and worship of our great and holy God!
